Age Limits:
The minimum age to travel is 13. Ages 13-17 must travel with a legal guardian 18 or older.
Registration Non-Refundable Deposit Cost & Deadline: $300.00 on Monday, December 2, 2019
Please begin passport applications now if you do not already have a passport valid for 6 months after the date of the trip.

Preliminary Budget:
This amount reflects a team size of 12 people. If we are able to get 15 people, the estimated price would decrease to $2,600, a team of 20 people would decrease the price to $2,450.
However, a smaller team under 12 people would increase the cost as shared in-country costs (transportation, translators, Compassion International staff to host team) would be divided among fewer team members.
A breakdown of the $2,700 is as follows and will cover:
Airfare:
$720 - International Airfare from Los Angeles to Barranquilla, Colombia
Pre-trip Costs:
$40 - Background Check (required for anyone visiting a Compassion Project per our child protection policy
$20 - International Trip Insurance (policy coverage information attached)
$30 - Compassion Trip Guide/Journal, Mailing & Registration
$100 - Compassion Admin fee (helps cover the cost of Compassion STMT Program)
In-Country Costs:
$1,790 All in-country expenses for 7 nights/8 days: lodging, food, ground transportation, purified water, translators, and covers Compassion International Staff to host, accompany, and serve with the team for the entire mission trip.
This cost does not include:
- Passport & Entry Fees
- Luggage Fees
- Meals while in transit
- Souvenir Shopping
The cost of transportation to Fun Day Activity. This cost will be itemized per each individual traveler and included on the final invoice based on the distance the Sponsored Child will have to travel to meet and spend the day with his/her sponsor.
PLEASE NOTE: Fun Day is a day set aside during each trip for the sponsor to connect with their sponsor child. For sponsored children under the age of 3 years old, this may put an unnecessary burden on the child and a guardian/parent if lengthy travel is involved. Therefore, we cannot guarantee a child’s participation in Fun Day if they are under the age of 3 years old and lengthy travel is needed.

- Tues., March 17-Drive to Santa Marta, Welcome ceremony, tour, lunch, home visits
- Wed., March 18-Ministry TBD Compassion center
- Thurs., March 19-Ministry TBD Compassion center
- Fri., March 20-Staff training/retreat
- Sat., March 21-Fun day with sponsored children
- Sun., March 22-Church service, souvenir shopping, drive back to Barranquilla
- Mon., March 23-International flight home at 7:01am
