Scripture:

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Matthew 5:4

Observation:

Whenever we experience loss, we go through a season of mourning. Maybe it’s a loved one that you’ve lost, maybe it’s a job, or a home, or even a dream that’s died. Jesus speaks blessing over those who are grieving and wants us to know that it’s okay to grieve, but we don’t need to carry that grief on our own.

Application:

We aren’t supposed to grieve alone; talk to God, talk to a loved one, even talk to a counselor. Let others share the load of your feelings today.

Prayer:

Father let my heart be filled with your spirit of comfort and peace. Help me to honestly address how I’m feeling, and get the help I need. Thank you that you’re with me through this, and that as I bring this into the light I know that you will heal me. Thank you Jesus. Amen.
