Scripture:

How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world.” Psalm 31:19

Observation & Application:

Letting bad fear reign in our life produces the following:

F – Frightened. Scared of the now, scared of the future.

E – Emotional. Emotionally disturbed, always emotionally raw.

A – Alarmed. There’s an always present sense of danger.

R – Run. Our tendency is to run away and to escape.

Choosing to let the fear of God rule our life instead looks like this:

F – Focus. Focus on God, pay attention to him.

E – Emotions. Pour your heart out to God, trust Him with how you’re feeling.

A – Awareness. Become aware of God’s goodness towards you and His presence in your life.

R – Reverence. Live your life with reverence for God, knowing that all things work together for the good of those who love Him and are called by Him.

Prayer:

Lord help me to live free of fear of this world because I’m too consumed with reverence for your power in my life instead. You are greater than any fear, any circumstance I may face. I speak against the lies of the enemy today that try to tell me that you won’t be there, or that you aren’t big enough to handle every trial I may face. I choose to focus on you and your presence today Lord. Amen.
