Loneliness

Scripture: 

“Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” Mark 15:33-34; Matthew 27:45-46

Observation: 

Even Jesus experienced the pain of loneliness. 

Application: 

Jesus said, ‘why have you abandoned me?’ We know the fact is that God did not abandon Jesus and, in the same way, would never abandon you. However, although we might know this intellectually, the feeling of loneliness is still very real. 

Prayer: 

Father, help me today to be reassured of your presence. Help me to know with certainty that you are always with me and free me from feelings of loneliness and/or abandonment. I need you, Lord. Thank you for never leaving or forsaking me! Amen
