Take Out The Garbage

Scripture:

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:31-32

Observation:

God doesn’t want us to carry garbage into the new year. There’s a lot that can stink up our lives: bad attitudes, unforgiveness, anger, bitterness. The remedy for all of that can be found in prayer, repentance, and surrendering ourselves to God. When we do those things, we’re asking Jesus to take out our garbage.

Application:

As we wrap up this year, spend some time to reflect and take out the garbage. Is there undealt with trash that you’ve let sour your life? Don’t waste another day carrying it around.

Prayer:

Jesus, I surrender _______. I ask you to forgive me for holding onto this. I release it in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
