The Power Of Music

Scripture:

“And whenever the harmful spirit from God was upon Saul, David took the lyre and played it with his hand. So Saul was refreshed and was well, and the harmful spirit departed from him.” 1 Samuel 16:23

Observation:

Music has the power to greatly impact our lives. For Saul, it was the only thing that brought him peace when he was being tormented. It can be a powerful tool for us as well if we employ it appropriately.

Application:

When you’re feeling down, try putting on worship music. Add music to your life that lifts you up. Let it be a tool that helps you today, like it did for Saul.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for the gift of music. Help me to remember that you’ve given it to me as a tool that I can use when I need to be encouraged or need to drive back the darkness in my life. Help me to fill my life with worship today. Amen.
