Yield To God

Scripture:

“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26

Observation:

When God created us, He who has the ultimate control chose to give us a lot of control as well. In His decision to give us free will and a calling, He gave us the opportunity to choose to surrender our control back to Him. He wants us to choose to yield to Him, to trust Him. That opportunity is one we get to choose every day.

Application:

Today, choose to yield to God’s control. Spend some time on this first day of 2021 and actively surrender to God. Maybe raise your hands, or even kneel as you pray. Let God be in control as you walk into this new year.

Prayer:

God, I trust that you are in control. On this first day of 2021, I yield to you. I let go of all of my fears, my worries, my regrets, and all of the things that I can’t control. I yield and give up control to you Lord. Amen.
