Scripture:

“God blesses those who are poor in spirit and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.” Matthew 5:3

Observation:

Those with the heart of humility are those who have their undivided attention on God. Being poor in spirit means that we totally depend on God. We depend on Him in all circumstances, we’re honest about who we are and the struggles that we face. We lean on Him in all situations. 

Application:

What does it mean to you to totally depend on God? Are there things that come to mind that you know you aren’t letting yourself be honest with God about? Focus on opening up with Him about everything today!

Prayer:

Lord I want to have the kind of humility that honors you. I know that to be humble is not to think less of myself, but rather to focus my thoughts fully on you. Help me to bring you into every situation, every thought, and every decision today. I depend on you Lord. Amen.
