God Will Bring You Into The Promised Land

Scripture:

“The Lord told Joshua, “Today I will begin to make you a great leader in the eyes of all the Israelites. They will know that I am with you, just as I was with Moses. Give this command to the priests who carry the Ark of the Covenant: ‘When you reach the banks of the Jordan River, take a few steps into the river and stop there.’” Joshua 3:7-8

Observation:

This is the second time we see God part the waters for the Israelites to cross. But this time, they had to prepare themselves and step out while the water was still rushing around them. This crossing required obedience and preparation in the form of the purification they underwent. Then they had to step out in faith, believing in the promise that God had given them to stop the flow of the river (in the flood season, when the water was at its highest) and that He’d lead them into the promised land.

Application:

Contend for the promises God has given to you. Sometimes we too face a second crossing in the journey towards our own promised land. Step out in faith and obedience today.

Prayer:

Lord, I step out in faith today. I believe that you are and will lead me into your promises. Lord, I also pray for our nation. On this day of remembering Martin Luther King Jr, I pray for equality and peace for my brothers and sisters. I ask for your continued leading and healing for our nation today. Amen.
