Scripture:

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” Proverbs 18:21

Observation:

The words we speak have significant consequences. What we say matters. We can speak life, or we can speak death. One of the things we will give account for at the end of our lives is our words.

Application:

Do you speak life or do you speak death? How do you speak to your family, to your friends, to your coworkers, even to yourself? Choose to encourage, to lift people up, to speak life today.

Prayer:

Father, help me to speak life today. Set a guard over my mouth when I’m going to speak something I will regret. I acknowledge the significance and the impact my words can have on those around me. Help me to honor you with my words today. Amen.
