Scripture:

“Change your life, not just your clothes. Come back to God, your God. And here’s why: God is kind and merciful. He takes a deep breath, puts up with a lot, this most patient God, extravagant in love, always ready to cancel catastrophe.” Joel 2:13

Devotional:

Repentance – to change your mind; to turn around from the direction you were going. Time after time we read in the Bible instances where God calls His people back to Him when they start to drift away. The same happens to us. Our hearts can drift away, sometimes without us even noticing. But God is always faithful. It’s never too late to repent and turn back to Him.

Application:

Part of prayer is repentance, and we need to repent daily. Practice repentance in your prayer today.

Prayer:

God I come to you and repent. Please forgive me for _______. I want my heart to be focused on you, forgive me for when I’ve let it drift away. Thank you for your love and your mercy today and every day! Amen.
