Scripture:

“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19

Observation:

When we fixate on the past, it traps us. It limits our vision so we cannot perceive the new things God is trying to do in our lives. That’s why He calls us to not hold onto unforgiveness, bitterness, shame, etc, and instead look ahead with anticipation for the things God still has planned for us!

Application:

What is it that has you trapped? God is asking you to let go of it today. He wants you to walk in freedom!

Prayer:

Jesus I don’t want to be like the monkey who gets trapped because he can’t let go. I want to be free to see the plans you have for me! I surrender _______ to you today. I’m letting it go and trusting you Lord. Amen.
