Scripture:

“Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, ‘My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.’” Matthew 26:39

Devotional:

So often we pray because we want God to change our circumstances, and if God doesn’t we can easily get discouraged. But prayer isn’t meant to just change our circumstances; it’s meant to change us.

Application:

If you’re feeling discouraged in your prayer life, don’t give! Keep praying. Allow God to change you through your prayer time today.

Prayer:

Lord I echo the prayer Jesus prayed, “Not as I will, but as YOU will.” I surrender to your will Lord. I thank you that I can always come to you with my circumstances. Ultimately I want your will to be done in my life. Transform me and teach me through this prayer today. Amen.
