Love Is A Conduct And A Commitment

Scripture:

Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.” 1 John 3:18

We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.” 1 John 4:16

Observation:

Love is a conduct and a commitment. Love is far more than words. It takes action. We have to actively show those around us what love means, not just speak it without living it. Love is also a commitment. God is committed to His love for us, and as His children we are called to be committed to our love for Him and others as well. Committed love isn’t conditional.

Application:

Think of some ways today to show those around you how you love them with more than just your words. Do something nice for someone else without any expectation of a return. Reach out to someone that you haven’t talked to in a while. Whatever it is, put love in action today.

Prayer:

Jesus, thank you for your love for me. Thank you that your love never runs out, and that your love is such an active and important part of my life. Help me to show those around me what love is in more than words. Show me how to put love in action today. Amen.
