Scripture:

“Nor must you surrender any part of yourselves to sin to be used for wicked purposes. Instead, give yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life, and surrender your whole being to him to be used for righteous purposes.” Roman 6:13

Observation:

“I yield.” God wants us to trust Him with the control of our lives. We can even be chasing after things that are good, but if we aren’t yielding to God we aren’t serving His true purposes.

Application:

What are you surrendered to? What’s the driving force in your life. Maybe your ambition has control. Maybe it’s sin or addiction or even laziness that’s ruling you. Maybe it’s fear. Whatever it is, choose to put God above those things. Choose to yield to Him above all.

Prayer:

Lord, I yield. I can’t do this life without You. I give up control. I yield God. Amen.
