Scripture:
“Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.” Philippians 2:2-5
Observation:
It’s a matter of your attitude. There is power in the attitudes we choose. Jesus wants us to have an attitude like Him. He wants us to be humble, serve others, be positive and not critical, and don’t be selfish or conceited.
Application:
Does your attitude need an adjustment? We can so easily let ourselves off the hook, believing that our attitude is a byproduct of our circumstances. But attitude is a choice. It’s a decision we make with every reaction, even sometimes every thought. If your attitude needs some help today, don’t be discouraged! Ask Jesus to help you have an attitude adjustment, and find some intentional things that you can do today to start changing your mindset.
Prayer:
Lord I want my attitude to honor you. Forgive me for my _________ attitude. Help me to shift my mindset today, and make an intentional effort to live with an attitude like you. Amen.
