Scripture:

‘Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.’ 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Observation:

Of course, you can! Would the people in your life say that they hear these types of encouraging words from you or do you speak more words of discouragement?

Application:

We have the power to build up and tear down the people in our lives. We do it with words. We do it with actions. We even do it with facial expressions. Pay attention today to how you affect the people around you and make a conscious decision to build them up and encourage them. 

Prayer:

Jesus, today help me to love the people around me by building them up. Help me to be a person in their lives that they can come to when they need encouragement and give me life giving words to speak to them. All for your glory! Amen.
