Internalize Right Motives

Scripture:

“On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.” Matthew 2:11

Observation:

I – Internalize right motives. Our motives must always be based on loving God and loving others. The Wise Men pursued the mission God placed on their hearts, but they did I with the intent of reaching Jesus to worship him. Their dream didn’t revolve around themselves. Their dream was centered on the desire to follow God’s plan and get to see and worship His son.

Application:

Today, keep pursuing the dreams that God has placed in your heart – but examine your motives. Are they God centered? Are your motives focused on showing others love? Or are you focused on yourself?

Prayer:

Jesus, I want my heart to be right as I pursue the dreams you’ve given to me. Check my heart and check me if my motives stray from honoring you. Amen.
