Unleashing Spiritual Gifts

Scripture:

“In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.” Romans 12:6-8

Observation:

You don’t want to spend your life doing things God hasn’t shaped you for. God has gifted and anointed you for a specific purpose. Spiritual gifting is a big piece of calling, and knowing what God has gifted you with is important.

Application:

Do you know what your top three or four spiritual gifts are? Identifying them can help you direct your energy the way God wants you too, instead of investing in things God didn’t call you to. Also, if you have children, help them to identify their spiritual gifts. Show them how wonderfully and uniquely God created them, and set them up for success in life.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for the gifts that you’ve given me. Help me to honor and serve you well with them. Help me to identify gifts that I may be unaware of. Show me areas where I’ve invested my energy, but I’m not called to continue in. Amen.
