Tuesday, September Day 29

Scripture:

“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14

Observation:

God is calling you to live free of your past. So often we can let our past hold us back from the promises of the present that God has for us. When we focus on the past we can let ourselves be bound by our mistakes, and believe the lies of the enemy that the things of our past disqualify us. But God has set you free and wants you to keep running forward!

Application:

We all have failures and regrets, but we get to choose to not live in the past. Don’t let your past control your present.

Prayer:

Jesus, thank you that because of your sacrifice for me I am free of my mistakes. Thank you that I do not have to live as a slave to my past. Today I declare that I am laying down ________ to run the race you’ve called me to run Lord. Thank you that by your grace I am free!
