Learn From Failure

Scripture:

“But the Lord said to Joshua, “Get up! Why are you lying on your face like this? Israel has sinned and broken my covenant… Hidden among you, O Israel, are things set apart for the Lord. You will never defeat your enemies until you remove these things from among you.” Joshua 7:10-13

Observation:

God doesn’t want to leave us in our failure. When we mess up, He doesn’t walk away from us to deal with the consequences on our own. He wants us to address our mistakes and learn from them.

Application:

When you fail, ask the Lord to show you what you need to change. It’s important to confess our failures and walk away from them, but it’s also important to ask the Lord to teach us where we went wrong.

Prayer:

Father, when I mess up, help me to learn from my mistakes. I don’t want to repeat my failures. Lord, please take every opportunity to help me to grow more into the person you’ve created me to be and help me to adjust and change what you want me to. Amen.
