Speak With Love

Scripture:

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.” 1 Corinthians 13:1

Observation:

If we don’t have love in our hearts it doesn’t matter how eloquently we speak or the gifts we possess. What we do will be hollow if we are not driven by love and our actions won’t be pleasing to God. To be people who love well is to be our primary goal; no spiritual gift is more important than that.

Application:

Examine your heart. Are you just going through the motions with your gifts and words, with your serving, or are your actions motivated by love? Ask the Lord to reveal to you places that you need to work on to be a more loving person today.

Prayer:

Lord, I know that if I don’t love you and others, nothing else I do will really matter. I lay my heart down before you and I ask that you’d reveal anything in me that does not please you Jesus. Help me to grow in love for those around me. Let my actions be driven by your love, and let all that I am honor you. Amen.
