Perspective Is Everything

Scripture:

“Messengers came and told Jehoshaphat, ‘A vast army from Edom is marching against you from beyond the Dead Sea. They are already at Hazazon-tamar.’ Jehoshaphat was terrified by this news and begged the Lord for guidance. He also ordered everyone in Judah to begin fasting.” 2 Chronicles 20:2-3

Observation:

We either see God through our big problem or see our problem through our big God. If all we’re looking at is the problem, it amplifies how intimidating the problem looks while minimizing how powerful God is in every situation. Jehoshaphat felt terror at the size of his problem, but he chose to turn to God with it. When we shift our perspective, we can shift reality.

Application:

Whatever you face today, remind yourself how big God is. There is nothing you will face that He can’t handle. Like Jehoshaphat, if you find yourself worrying, turn to God in prayer instead. Declare His greatness throughout your day.

Prayer:

Lord, you are greater than any issue I will face today. You have proven your faithfulness to me over and over, and I know that you are with me. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
