Scripture:

“He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of John. You shall be called Cephas” (which means Peter)” John 1:42

Observation:

Forgiving yourself starts with believing the truth of who God says you are. We see several times in the Bible where God gives someone a new name; calling them out of who they believe they are, and naming them what He knows they are meant to be.

Application:

God has called you, He has affirmed you. Don’t give up when you feel like you’ve failed! He has given you a new name – have the boldness to get up and try again.

Prayer:

Jesus thank you for not seeing me the way I see myself. Thank you for not giving up on me when I mess up or revert to my old ways. Please forgive me for ______. Help me to get up and walk in the confidence of who you say I am today.
