Scripture:

“Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.” Proverbs 17:27

Observation:

We are called to put everything about ourselves under submission to God. Our words, our emotions, sometimes even our desire to defend ourselves. God has blessings in store for those who actively submit to His Spirit. 

Application:

Submit to God’s Spirit today. Ask Him to guard your mouth and your reactions, and let Him guide your responses.

Prayer:

Lord I submit to your Spirit. Please guard my mouth when I want to say things that won’t honor you. Help me to be a light in every situation I face today. Amen.
