Focus On The Future

Scripture:

“Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14

Observation:

Sometimes we let our past control our future. We all fail and fall short; what makes the difference is if we’ll repent for our mistakes and let them go, or if we choose to continue to dwell in our shame and pain. We get to choose if we’ll let our regrets hold us back, or if we’ll accept Jesus’ forgiveness and walk into the future He has prepared for us by His grace.

Application:

Don’t bring your past mistakes into this coming year. Repent, and let go of the regret. Step into the new year with a clean slate, ready for all God has in store for your future!

Prayer:

Father God, I’m letting go of my shame and mistakes. Please forgive me for all the times that I have fallen short and made the wrong decisions. Forgive me for my sins. I choose today to walk in the grace you’ve given me, and step into the future you have for me. Amen.
