Give From Love

Scripture:

“If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:3

Observation:

You can give without loving, but you can’t love without giving. Some people give with an expectation of a return, or give out of guilt, or out of a control issue. But we are supposed to love like God loves: freely, generously, and graciously.

Application:

God so loved the world that He gave His son. What motivates you to give? Do you give with an expectation? We challenge you to evaluate your motives today, and truly give with love like God does.

Prayer:

Lord, I want to give like you do. Please show me if my giving is being driven with an ulterior motive. Help me to give generously, and from a place of love. Thank you for your generosity towards me Lord. Amen.
