Scripture:

“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem to be a joy, and her people to be a gladness.” Isaiah 65:17-18

Observation:

Before God can create something new, we have to let go of the old, the past. From the very beginning of time we see that God creates the new out of darkness. It’s often those dark times in our lives that God allows to set the stage for the new things He wants to bring about. He WILL create new, even if we can’t see it yet.

Application:

If you are in a dark and messy place, hold onto hope. God’s promises are a sure thing. He promises to create new in your life today and He will not let you down! Embrace the work that He’s doing in the darkness, and trust that He will not leave you there.

Prayer:

Lord I ask for your help to see the work that you’re doing in my life today. I trust you, and know that even in the darkness you can work all things for good. I believe you when you say that you are doing a new thing in my life. Help me to submit to the process, and show me the things that I need to let go of today. Amen.
