Love Is Greater Than Knowledge

Scripture:

If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:2

Observation:

We can be people with great knowledge, great giftings, even great callings – but if we aren’t people who love well it doesn’t matter. If we don’t love, no achievement really matters in the long run.

Application:

Knowledge is easily accessible in our internet driven world. But more knowledge doesn’t necessarily change the world for the better. Love does. So instead of being people who chase after all of the things, let’s make sure that the primary goal we pursue is to be people who show love to those around them.

Prayer:

Lord, show me how to love those around me better today. I know no achievement will matter more than how I show love to those you put in my life. Let me be a person who is characterized by my love and kindness for others. Amen.
