Scripture:
“All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the LORD. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.” Isaiah 66:2
Observation:
Humility is not weakness or not being confident in yourself. Jesus was the most humble man to walk the earth, and he never once put himself down. But he served others. He put others first. He knew who he was, and out of that awareness, he was able to serve others well.
Application:
Being a person of humility is being a person who puts others first. It does not mean degrading yourself. What kind of humility do you model? Are you able to see the needs of those around you because you already know who you are in Jesus? Meditate on that today.
Prayer:
Jesus, I want to be a person who lives with humility. Just like you weren’t preoccupied with yourself, help me also to have confidence in who I am in you, and not miss out on serving those around me. Amen.
