Scripture:

“So pay attention to how you hear. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what they think they understand will be taken away from them.” Luke 8:18

Observation:

There are times in our lives where we don’t see growth because we aren’t truly listening to God. If we aren’t listening to Him, He can’t produce the good fruit in our lives.

Application:

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control. What kind of fruit is your life producing? Spend some time today reflecting on this, and asking the Lord to help you hear Him without your answer running.

Prayer:

Jesus, I want to hear you. I want to listen to you well. Teach me your ways Lord. Direct my thoughts and the attitudes of my heart. I want my life to honor and reflect you, and I want the full fruit of the Spirit to be evident in my life. Have your way Lord and open my ears. I’m listening. Amen.
